| Celena Francine Alexandra Cherry was born in 1977 in Hammersmith, London. Her parents, Maurice and Lena recognised that even at an early age, Celena had a passion for performing. At the age of 4, Celena attended Ravenscourt Theatre School where she developed her skills as both a singer and actress. In 1993 left school and got her first record contract with Walt Disney Records as part of a group called 'Illusion'. After 2 years, Celena decided to strengthen her skills and went to West Thames College in Isleworth to study film and theatre, and just a year later, a chance meeting brought her the fantastic opportunity of fulfilling a dream - by becoming the lead singer of a newly formed girl group, The Honeyz.
In 1998, their debut single 'Finally Found' reached number four in the UK charts and stayed in the chart for a further 10 weeks. Similar success followed for their next 4 singles, 'End Of The Line', 'Love Of A Lifetime', 'Never Let You Down' and 'Won't Take It Lying Down'. This led to platinum selling UK album,'Wonder No 8' and hits all over the world. |
